Kabul: The capital of Afghanistan, Kabul has been struck with a suicide and a car bomb and has killed at least 50 people while injuring dozens more, health officials told Reuters.
According to AP the suicide bomber attacked first and then the car bomb exploded shortly after close to the location of the first attack.
Sediq Seddiqui, the interior minister of Afghanistan has confirmed about the deaths but did not specify the actual number of casualties. He also said that the terrorists targeted the lawmaker’s offices and government officials in the area.
The responsibility of the attacks was claimed by the Taliban and their spokesperson Zabih Ullah Mujahid confirmed.
Previously on Tuesday seven people were killed in a suicide attack in the southern province of Helmand. The provincial police chief Gen. Agha Noor Kemtoz said that provincial intelligence officers were targeted in a guesthouse in the attack.
Although no one claimed the responsibility of the attack but Taliban had frequently used such tactics in the area.
