Moscow: The Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin has said he is hopeful that Donald Trump’s win will help to restore the bilateral relations between United States and Russia.

The Russian president has sent a message to Donald Trump showing confidence that a more cordial and diplomatic relation is better for the interests of both the countries.

According to reports by RIA Novosti, Putin is hopeful that Moscow and Washington can have bilateral relations based on mutual respect, principles of equality, safeguard of the interests of our people and the entire international community.

Hillary Clinton had a strict attitude towards Russia as compared to Donald Trump, the Russian president had said on an economic forum last month, “We are concerned with the deterioration of Russian-American relations, but that was not our choice, we never wanted that. On the contrary, we want to have friendly relations with the US, a great country and a leading economy.”

Many experts and analysts are of the point of view that US-Russia relations have not been this intense since the Cold War.

Putin is not alone in hoping that Donald Trump’s presidency will improve the bilateral relations between United States and Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, the Russian State Duma speaker said,

“The current US-Russian relations cannot be called friendly. Hopefully, with the new US president a more constructive dialogue will be possible between our countries. The Russian Parliament will welcome and support any steps in this direction.”

Currently the biggest issue between both these superpowers is the civil war in Syria, the Russian government is backing the Syrian president Bashar Al Assad and his regime, while the United States is supporting the Syrian rebels in an attempt to overthrow the Syrian government.

The city of Aleppo is the center of the conflict currently and United States and Russia both had a short lived ceasefire agreement which could not last long as requirement of the deal were not met by all the parties.

Hillary Clinton was suggesting a complete takeover of the Syrian airspace so that United States could achieve their objectives quickly, but military experts have said that this is not possible without going to war with Russia.
Keep in mind Russia has already installed its latest anti-missile defence system in Syria.
