Second season of Pakistan Super League starts tomorrow in United Arab Emirates

Dubai: The second season of Pakistan Super League is starting on Thursday in United Arab Emirates, the season will continue till March 5.

The colorful opening ceremony will take place in Dubai Cricket Stadium and the inaugural match will be played between defending champions Islamabad United and Peshawar Zulmi. Islamabad United was lead by Misbah ul Haq to victory last year by defeating Quetta gladiator with six wickets.

Like last year the second season of Pakistan Super League will also feature five teams, these teams are Islamabad United, Peshawar Zulmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.

Once again Islamabad United is lead by Misbah ul Haq and Sarfraz Ahmed will be leading Quetta Gladiators, however, captains of the remaining three teams have been changed.

Darren Sammy will be replacing Shahid Afridi as captain of Peshawar Zulmi, Brendon McCullum will be replacing Azhar Ali as captain of Lahore Qalandars and Kumar Sangakkara will be the captain of Karachi Kings instead of Shoaib Malik.

Changes have also been made in the lineups of the teams, Lahore Qalandars have dropped Dwayne Bravo, Shawn Tate and Anton Du Kitsch and there place has been taken by Jason Roy, Chris Green and James Franklin.

Peshawar Zulmi also made some changes Marlon Samuels, Andre Fletcher and Tillakaratne Dilshan will be playing instead of Alex Heelz, Muhammad Shahzad and Shakib ul Hasan.

Most of the changes occurred due to the fact that at least 13 foreign players refused to play in the second season of Pakistan Super League.
