The new Backbeat Pro 2 headphones by Plantronics provide a lot of bass and good controls at a price which is a third of what a leading brand of headphones will cost.
The new headphones feature more ergonomic and oval shape instead of the round shape of its predecessors, it fis around the ear nicely and does not touch any part of the year. The Backbeat Pro 2 also more comfortable and lighter.
It provides great adjustment of the earcup and it can easily fit on different types of head shapes, however, they cannot be folded and could be very bulky when it comes to carry them around in a bag.
Buttons for skipping tracks, a central play-pause button and volume adjusting jog wheel is placed on the left earcup along with a switch to turn off or on the noise cancelling function. It can also be used to feed outside noises through the microphone into the headphones.
On the right earcup there is a headphone cable socket , a power button that doubles as Bluetooth activation, a mute button and microUSB charging port is placed.
The buttons and switches feel quite solid, the music is paused if the headphone is removed and resumes playback once it is connected again.

The BackBeat Pro 2 has an extremely effective active noise cancelling feature, however, it is comparatively less effective when it comes to sudden sounds or while commuting. The main difference between the Pro 2 and the leading headphones is that you can hear more of the background conversations when using Pro 2. Still it has by far one of the best quality noise cancelling feature in the market today.
The Pro 2 has made major advancement to its predecessors and one of the first thing to note is that there is no effect on the bass even when the noise cancelling is on. It provides well rounded and full base even when noise cancellation is activated. The bass is very punchy and sharp and it does not drown out the highs and trebles.
According to claims made by Plantronics the BackBeat Pro 2 has a battery life of 24 hours, the battery lasts even longer when used without activating the noise cancellation or when used via a cable. It takes approximately three hours to completely charge the headphones using the microUSB cable.
To some it may seem that the charging is slow but a 24 hour battery life accommodates the slow speed more than enough.
There are two versions of BackBeat Pro, the brown Pro 2 costs $277 while the grey Pro 2 with carry case costs $315.
The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 is an affordable and great pair of headphones with good noise cancellation feature, great ergonomic design, battery that can last for days and good control. All these features will satisfy most of the consumers that are looking for a good quality wireless headphone.
BackBeat Pro 2 is the best option for anyone who is looking for a headphone with good sound quality and affordable rate, you cannot go wrong with it.
