Islamabad: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department of Pakistan army, the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has begun his farewell visits prior to his retirement in the coming few days.
The Director General of ISPR, General Asim Saleem Bajwa has made this announcement through ISPR official twitter account. The post read, “COAS kicks off farewell visits beginning from Lahore today. Meets, addresses, thanks huge gathering of soldiers of Army & Rangers at Garrison-1.”
General Raheel Sharif addressed the soldier of Pakistan army and rangers in the Garrison-1 in Lahore, he also met with the soldiers personally.
The army chief said at this moment that restoring peace and stability was not an easy task but our sacrifices and our national determination helped us overcome the difficulties.
According to the DG ISPR, General Raheel Sharif will also visit Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
Keep in mind that army chief General Raheel Sharif’s tenures is ending on November 27, there are different rumors circling in the media but the DG ISPR has denied all of these rumors.
Army has always been an influential force in the history of Pakistan which makes the army chief one of the most important figures in the country, General Raheel Sharif took this post at a time when Pakistan was suffering from serious security issues.
There is no report however who will succeed General Raheel Sharif after he retires.
