US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Friday alarmed that the United States “is prepared to do more” as a response to Syria, over the of use of chemical weapons in Idlib attack.
She explained that US did the 59 TomaHawk Cruise missiles strike over Syrian base yesterday, to ensure the cease of any further chemical attacks managed by Bashar Al Assad.
She added that US missiles targeted the Syrian army base which was believed for operating the chemical attacks in Syrian city Idlib, few days back. She said this is our core responsibility for even our National security to ensure the ban of chemical weapons use globally.
“The United States took a very measured step last night,” Haley said. “We are prepared to do more. But we hope that will not be necessary. It is time for all civilized nations to stop the horrors that are taking place in Syria and demand a political solution.”
“Every time Assad has crossed the line of human decency, Russia has stood beside him,” Haley said.
“bears considerable responsibility” for Assad’s use of chemical weapons, Haley said. “The joint investigative mechanism has found beyond any doubt that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons against its own people multiple times,” Haley said.
“Assad did this because he thought he could get away with it. He thought he could get away with it because he knew Russia had his back. That changed last night.”
Meanwhile the Russian President Vladimir Putin much criticised the US missile strike in Syria, as it is a coalition force of Syrian government, and blamed US that it encourages terrorists.
