The sixth and final installment of Resident Evil series “The Final Chapter” is releasing in the United States on January 27, written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson this series is based on the popular Capcom video game series with the same name.

The movie starts off three weeks after where the Resident Evil: Retribution ended, Milla Jovovich’s character is humanity’s last hope to defend against virus infected zombies. In this final installment she will return to where it all began – The Hive in Raccoon City.

The villainous Umbrella Corporation is also gathering in Racoon city to wipe out the survivors of the apocalypse.

This sixth and final installment was scheduled to be released in 2012 after the success of the previous installment, writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson had also confirmed that he is directing the sequel.

Producer Samuel Hadida had told Forbes in 2012 that a sixth and even a seventh sequel is under planning in order to resume the series. However, Paul W.S. Anderson had confirmed that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be the last installment of the series.

Many popular characters will be making a comeback including Ali Larter (Claire Redfield), however, many popular characters have been excluded like the characters of Michelle Rodriguez (Rain Ocampo), Wentworth Miller (Chris Redfield), Johann Urb (Leon S. Kennedy), Spencer Locke (K-Mart), Li Bingbing (Ada Wong) and Sienna Guillory (Jill Valentine).
