Rawalpindi, Pakistan: previously arrested spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was the agent of Indian agency RAW, from Balochistan Pakistan on March 3, 2016., under the allegations of espionage activities against Pakistan state, is awarded a death sentence through FGCM by the Pakistani Army on Monday.
Pakistan Army department the ISPR director Major General Asif Ghafoor in his tweet said that the Indian RAW member arrested for several sabotage activities against Pakistan, he was accused by Pakistan of being a “R&AW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent” and planning “subversive activities” in the country. He was arrested from Balochistan, has got a death sentenced.
The Pakistan Army had released a “confessional video” of Jadhav months back, in which he confessed that he was a serving Indian Navy officer at the time of arrest from Balochistan and was involved in subversive activities against the country.
“The spy was tried through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and awarded the death sentence. Today Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed his death sentence awarded by FGCM,” the ISPR said on Monday afternoon.
“He confessed before a magistrate and the court that he was tasked by RAW to plan, coordinate and organize espionage / sabotage activities aiming to destabilize and wage war against Pakistan by impeding the efforts of Law Enforcement Agencies for restoring peace in Balochistan and Karachi.”
Pakistan Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz told Senate that Pakistan never said there was any lack of evidence against him. “We have filed an FIR and prepared a case to prosecute Indian state actor for his subversive and terrorist activities in Pakistan,” he said.
According to the Indian government, Kulbhushan Jadhav is a former Indian Navy officer, he took early retirement and started his business at Iran and Pakistan, he was arrested last year from Pakistan and told as a serving Indian spy agent belonging to RAW, after non described allegations has been declared a death sentence for the ex Indian navy officer, it said.
Sources in New Delhi said Jadhav was abducted and shown that he was arrested from Balochistan. “The trial was not done in a proper way. Army courts in Pakistan are meant for terrorists and not Indian nations. We will protest against this..”.
Indian government claimed that it was not informed regarding the trial of Kulbhushan, it added, “It looks like an internal decision of the Pakistan army. No details are there in public domain.”
