Former President of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf acquitted in Akbar Bugti Case


Quetta: Anti-terrorism court acquitted, former president Pervez Musharraf, Aftab Sherpao and Shoaib Noorani in Akbar Bugti Murder case.

According to express news, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Mohammad Gohar was hearing Akbar Bugti murder case. This case has remained pending for three and half years. Although no evidence has been submitted to the court. The trial court ruled on the case, pending more than three years, in which Former president Pervez Musharraf, former interior minister Aftab sherpao and former provincial minister Shoaib nosherwani were accused of murder in Akbar Bugti. The court today acquitted all the accused persons in Akbar Bugti Case.

Akbar Bugti’s son, Jameel Bugti’s lawyer talked to the media that we are not satisfied with the court decision and we will challenge the case. Although the performance of investigation teams is unspeakable. He also told the media that the respected court excluded the case filed registering for DNA test and grave opening investigation. We told the court that the case has been filled with complications but no accused person entered into the case during the court hearing, that’s why we still wondering what happened to the court and why their decision looked weird. We request the court, accused must be punished.

On the other side, former interior minister Aftab Sherpao talked to the media and said, he was innocent in the case and we were acquitted from the court because no evidence has been found against us and no person came to blame us in the court.

Nawab Akbar Bugti was born in 12th July 1927 in Barkhan, present day Balochistan. He belonged to the Block tribe. He was the son of a chief. He got killed along with 37 armed tribals on August 26, 2006, in Bamboor hills of Dera Bugti district. He was killed along with family members during an operation. Helicopter gunships targeted the area and dropped troops. At that time, General Pervez Musharraf was accused of killing Akbar Bugti.
