Washington: The United States president-elect Donald Trump has once again targeted the intelligence community of the country.
He reacted to the fact that an intelligence briefing which he was going to receive has been delayed, the briefing was related to the alleged Russian cyber attacks and interference in the 2016 presidential elections.
He posted a tweet that said: “Perhaps more time needed to build to the case. Very strange!”.
However, the United States intelligence officials have denied about any delay in the briefings and insist that the briefing is on schedule.
It is widely believed by most of the the US intelligence including the CIA and FBI that Russia purposefully hacked the Democratic National Party and Hillary Clinton and leaked their information through Wikileaks and other sources in order to help Donald Trump win.
Trump is also been accused of casting doubt on his own country’s intelligence agencies on twitter as he has constantly dismissed the the allegations against Russia. In one of his previous tweets he said:
“If Russia, or some other entity, was hacking, why did the White House wait so long to act? Why did they only complain after Hillary lost?”
He also praised Vladimir Putin’s decision of not following a tit-for-tat policy and showing restraint after Barack Obama’s administration expelled 35 Russian diplomats and shut down two compounds.
Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks said on Tuesday once again that his website did not receive the information from Russia and the emails of John Podesta and Democratic National party were gathered from other sources.
